		<description>Steve, great article at outlining some of the most contentious subjects. However, I&#039;d just like to make a comment on the aerobic exercise burning fat comment. Although you are right in that it does burn fat, so does any other type of exercise if the fuel you are running your body on is that of fat. I.e, if you eat a low carb, high fat diet (such as myself) my body uses fat to fuel exercise regardless of the type I am partaking in. Also, this misconception that people need to to do more aerobic exercise to burn more fat is in my opinion misleading. Aerobic exercise also depletes muscle mass as the body works at becoming more efficient. Muscle is the largest consumer of energy in our bodies and if these are broken down / depleted as a consequence of increasing our aerobic workouts then our basal metobloic rate is also reduced, resulting in less fat burned overall. 

Aerobic exercise in my experience not only depletes muscle stores, it also drives up the secretion of cortisol (stress hormone) and as a result increases our insulin resistance. Consequently we now need more insulin to help storage of blood sugars. Ultimately we now increase our fat stores.

The prime example is the common overweight individuals found in all gyms around the globe, consistently being pushed by their trainers to smash another 10 minutes on the x trainer, another 500m on the rower or run another 1km on the treadmill. Despite all of this, they never lose a pound!

Just my take on the situation.

I very much like your sections regarding intolerances - I&#039;d be interested to hear any further articles you may like to write on the subject.
